What is claimed to be the world's largest recirculation mill is now available in the UK from Orthos (Engineering). Manufactured in Germany by Draiswerke, the DCP-Superflow 800 is a high performance, agitated media mill based on Drais's patented peg mill concept.
The 800 features a double annulus with internal circulation of the grinding medium. Performance is said to exceed that of a conventional media mill with a 1000 litre chamber - despite the 800's active mill chamber volume being only 79 litres.
Although designed for the high flow rate applications that are normally associated with the technique of recirculation grinding, the internal product flow of the DCP-Superflow - through two integrated chambers - is said to make the mill equally suited to authentic one-pass operations, which provide the narrowest possible particle size distribution.
