Targor plant in Germany
15 Jan 2000
Targor, the BASF/Hoechst polypropylene joint venture, has opened this new PP copolymers plant at its site in Wesseling, Germany. The plant uses Targor's proprietary `Novalen' gas-phase technology, and consumes ethylene and propylene from the site's two steamcrackers. The plant produces 225 000tpa of PP, taking the site's total capacity to 540 000tpa. Targor is currently building a logisitics centre to coordinate PP production, compounding, storage, packaging and delivery; total investment in this centre and the new plant will exceed DM200million.
