Croda takes an Applied approach
15 Jan 2000
Croda Resins employs electronic weighing to improve the quality of its products as well as safety. The company produces more than 300 different coatings and inks.
An Applied Weighing system controls deliveries, storage and blending of the coatings and inks. Bulk deliveries of 30t of synthetic materials are recorded on an electronic weighbridge before being discharged into 40t capacity storage tanks, each of which sits on Applied Weighing load cells.
Croda says that electronic weighing is safer than the nitrogen system. Previously, staff had to climb a ladder on the outside of the tank to read the scales but there is no longer a need to access them in that way.
