Before specifying a powder handling system it helps to have some knowledge of the material's flow characteristics. Solids handling specialist Matcon therefore often tests its customers' materials prior to selecting an appropriate handling system.
Tests are carried out either at the company's permanent test facility at its site in Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, or with mobile test units on the customers' own premises. Products can be tested under different process operations such as mixing, discharging, batching and controlled feeding.
According to Matcon, such investigations offer the user security in system specification, problem solving for difficult materials, and troubleshooting of existing systems.
