Hart standard on vortex meters
15 Jan 2000
Danfoss' latest generation of Vorflo vortex flowmeters feature the Hart communication protocol fitted as standard, significantly simplifying data transfer and commissioning.
The Vorflo meters mainly measure steam, gases and low viscosity liquids in a variety of applications in power plants and the food, chemical and petrochemical industries. All electrical parts of the meters, including the piezoelectric crystal sensor, are mounted outside the pipe and can be changed in situ without interrupting the flow.
The Vorflo is said to have the industry's first fully-welded sensor construction and has no gasketed joints between the crystal and the pick-up. Operating temperature range is between -40 and +400oC at pressures to 100bar.
