Draeger 'chips' check emissions
15 Jan 2000
The novel Chip Measurement System (CMS) from Draeger promises to make reliable spot measurements of gas and vapour concentrations with minimal user training.
The CMS features an analyser, which measures and evaluates gas concentration. The 'chips' are a variety of plug-in chemical sensors. Each chip carries a bar code which provides the parameters for assessing gas and measurement range.
Before making a measurement the system allows the user to select how data are stored. The user can allocate a letter to a measurement at a given location or the system can do this automatically. Up to 50 different tests can be made.
The CMS incorporates a mass flow regulated pump to enable measurement of concentrations in relation to time. This constant mass flow capability enables accurate measurements of, say, 0.2ppm benzene to be made.
