Charles Holliday has been named president and chief executive of US giant DuPont, succeeding Jack Krol, who is to step up to chairman of the company. Krol intends to retire at the end of next year, and will again be succeeded by Holliday.
A breath of fresh air
Chris Ryan is to be senior vice president for Air Products' gases business in Europe. He has worked for the company for 30 years, most recently as vice-president for corporate planning at its US headquarters.
New-look board for Borealis
Following the appointment of Svein Rennemo as chief executive, polyolefin major Borealis has reshuffled its board and corporate management team. Staffan Lennstrom takes responsibility for business units and sales; Harald Ynnesdal will oversee development of the company's production sites; Robert Onsander takes charge of the Stengunsund complex as site manager; and Maarit Aarni takes the post of vice president of the olefins business unit.
Glaxo Wellcome reshuffle
Robert Ingram has been named chief executive of Glaxo Wellcome, ousting Sean Lance, chief operating officer, who was lined up for the job. Lance will now leave the company.
