Mitsubishi Electric has appointed David Folley as marketing manager for its UK automation systems division, part of a divisional restructuring following marked sales improvements. Chris Cusick, product manager for drives and poisitioning systems, will take on the role of Folley's deputy.
* Food glorious food
Parker Pneumatic has appointed Mike Storrs as application engineer for the UK food industry. The company has identified the food sector as a major market for pneumatic systems, it says. Storrs will be looking at applications such as cheese pressing, milk bottling and meat mincing.
* Peake goes into Orbit
Herbie Peake has been taken over from Rob Waites as chairman of Orbit Pumps. Waites has moved to seal maker AES Engineering, where he will take on the post of international business development manager.
* Krohne's 21st century boys
Nigel Vaughn is to have the task of driving Coriolis meter producer Krohne into the next century as its UK managing director. His board will consist of Colin Scott as marketing director; Youssif Hussain as technical director for mass flow product development and R&D; and Eddie Bridges as mass flow product manager. The company is currently doubling the capacity of its Wellingborough factory, and adding new research facilities.
* Eley joins the heavyweights
Mettler Toledo has named Graham Eley as managing director of its Nottingham-based UK operations. An employee of Toledo since 1985 - prior to its acquisition by Mettler in 1989 - Eley will be in charge of a £20million operation with 175 employees.
* The world is (almost) his oyster
John Froggat has been named European sales manager for hand-held terminal manufacturer WPI Oyster Termiflex. His goal is to achieve 30 per cent sales growth by strengthening the sales team.
