Under or over? The answer comes from checkweighers

Checking the accuracy of filling and packaging operations is of vital importance to many PPMA members and their customers. This year's show sees the launch of several new products in this area. Mettler Toledo, for example, introduces the Garvens S-line series of checkweighers. These feature hygienic stainless steel housings with good protection against water ingress. Also on show is the company's top of the range FreeWeigh SQC filling software package.
Avery Berkel's CW35 is a heavy duty, all stainless steel checkweigher that is purpose designed for end-of-line weight inspection in harsh factory environments. The 15kg capacity machine is particularly suited for checking boxed goods, from industrial components to fresh food items.
Developed specifically for the dry goods sector, Loma's AS1200 checkweigher is said to be simple yet precise. Reject mechanisms can deal with pack weights of up to 1.2kg and applications range from almost all prepackaged products looking for missing items or Weights and Measures compliance. Loma is also showing its latest X-ray inspection product, Axis. This can inspect up to 450 packs per minute for contaminants less than 1mm in size.
