In another hardware/software suppliers alliance, the acquisition of a minority of Orsi shares by Endress+Hauser, a supplier of measurement technology and process automation, has initiated a long term strategic alliance. Orsi is a specialist in process control and production management software.
According to the companies, with their complementary products, Orsi and Endress+Hauser are aiming to integrate their development, production and marketing, offering process solutions to a growing market.
`In the next few years, the market will see a growth of over 30 per cent in North America,' says Giacomo Torre, Orsi's vp of strategic marketing. `It is driven by the need to integrate business planning systems (ERP) with plant and process management systems (MES).'
