Ingredients for fixing the M25

Applied Weighing has fitted a series of 16 Safemount load cells to two bitumen blend vessels at Nynas' site at Eastham, South Wirral.
The vessels blend synthetic polymers with bitumen for major road maintenance projects including the M25, M5 and M6 motorways. Large penalties are incurred if the product does not meet specification so accuracy was the main concern. Bitumen is pumped into the vessels from the nearby refinery. Polymer granules in solid form are then added in precise measures.
