Expanding contractor: Mowlem scoops process projects
15 Jan 2000
Mowlem Engineering Services has won three UK process engineering projects worth around £20million. The company's success underlines its `growing capacity in designing, managing and constructing pilot plants,' it says.
The largest project is an effluent treatment plant for Phillips Petroleum at Seal Sands, Teesside. Mowlem will undertake front-end engineering, definition, detailed engineering and procurement for the plant and, once construction work begins next year, will also provide construction management support. This project is registered as a pilot for the ACTIVE partnering alliance programme.
Over on the west coast, the company is also re-instrumenting Shell UK's solvents complex at Stanlow, Merseyside. This project, which includes the relocation of the complex's control building, is scheduled to take 20 months.
The final project of the three is the complete design and management of a bulk storage and distribution facility for TDG Pinnacle on a brownfield site in Dagenham, Essex.
