Munters dehumidifiers help manufacturers keep
15 Jan 2000
Manufacturers of electronics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food products invariably need to control closely the quality of air supplied to their processes; in particular, they often have to ensure that it is moisture-free. Munters is launching a new line of integrated dehumidification system components especially appropriate for such demanding environments.
The Modular Dehumidification System (MDS) is aimed at applying a uniform approach to the design, specification, and manufacture of dehumidification systems in Europe, Asia and the Americas, Munters explains. Such standardisation helps multinational manufacturers ensure the same quality of drying regardless of where in the world the equipment is installed.
Four desiccant rotor types are available for the dehumidification section, which the manufacturer claims will satisfy any drying requirements. The airflow covers a range from 1000-80000m3/h and dewpoints down to -60 C. An integrated control system optimises the functions and ensures a stable supply of dry air with minimum energy consumption.
The MDS concept uses proprietary software to optimise the efficiency of each system and eliminate barriers to compatibility. Munters' engineers can then provide customers with all information they need at a single meeting. The system can be delivered complete and factory-tested, avoiding possible coordination problems on site, so that the customer need only install and connect ductwork and utilities, Munters claims.
