Glaxo Wellcome eyes job cuts
15 Jan 2000
Glaxo Wellcome is set to announce some 4000 job cuts over the next three to four years, according to reports in the Financial Times. The cuts, which will be accompanied by plant closures, are part of a drive to reduce costs by some £300million-400million, the report says. The company - which has warned shareholders that it will not reach its earnings growth targets this year - has refused to comment.
