Foster Wheeler has been confirmed as the contractor for the $15million front end engineering design for the 6.5million tpa Dung Quat oil refinery in Vietnam.
* Gas capacity increased by READ
Process engineering group READ has been awarded a £1million contract to increase the capacity of a gas dehydration unit on the Total Alwyn NAB platform in time for a summer 1999 shutdown.
* BOC feeds Magnola plant
BOC Gases is to build a $6million hydrogen plant to supply 17tpd to Magnola's magnesium plant currently being built in Asbestos, Quebec.
* Beaver finishes Baglan Bay system
Beaver Valley Systems has completed installation of its plant information system at BP Chemicals' Baglan Bay plant in South Wales.
* Simon Carves is licensed to build
Engineering contractor Simon Carves is now licensed to use ICI's oxo alcohols technology in the design of an oxo alcohol plant to be completed in 2000.
* Safe communication in Spondon
BOSCH is to supply Courtaulds Chemicals' plant in Spondon, Derby, with 65 intrinsically safe portable handsets worth £335 000.
* New ethylene cracker in Ruwais
Alliance Bechtel Linde (ABL) will build Borouge's ethylene cracker at Ruwais petrochemical complex in Abu Dhabi. Construction will begin in 1999 for completion in 2001.
* Elf to receive electric actuators
Rotork is supplying over 100 electric valve actuators for the Elf operated Elgin/Franklin Field oil and gas development in the North Sea.
* Chocolate melts in Russian winter
Bradford-based water heater suppliers Rycroft has supplied equipment for installation in Cadbury's Chudovo plant, Russia. The contract was worth £150 000.
* Krofta celebrates new arrival
Krofta Engineering, the Flintshire-based designer and builder of dissolved air flotation (DAF) clarification equipment, has installed its first DAF effluent plant at the Tiverton, Devon site of John Heathcoat.
