Networking i-r transmitter
15 Jan 2000
Process Sensors' infrared transmitter has been designed for integrating into automated process systems. Available from Gorelec, the sensor can operate as a single discrete gauge or on a multipoint network, providing off-line accuracy under on-line operating conditions.
The transmitter's `sensor-only' design is said to eliminate the need for a central processor and associated connecting cables, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
For networked configurations, a number of sensors can be set up to interface with networks such as Fieldbus, Profibus, Ethernet and DeviceNet.
The sensor covers a minimum moisture range of 0-0.01 per cent and a maximum of 0-95 per cent. Operating temperature is 0-50 degrees C. With calibration only required once a year, the sensor is suited to many applications in industries such as food production.
