* Sterling work for Du Pont Sterling Process Engineering has been awarded a £4.5million contract by Du Pont (UK) for the supply of an abatement plant to oxidise waste gas streams from Du Pont's nylon plant in Middlesbrough.
* Weir wins out over competition
Against `intense international competition', Weir Pumps has won a £3million order from Stone & Webster for the supply of 12 cooling water pumps and drivers for a petrochemical complex in Tuban, East Java, Indonesia. The 2.4MW pumps are for the PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama plant.
* More power for Moore Products
An order worth around £1million has been placed by Instem Computer Systems with Moore Products for APACS control equipment as part of the refurbishment of three 500MW generating units at Eastern Generation's West Burton power station. The order follows similar success for Moore at Drax and Ironbridge power stations.
* Rietschle pumps up the orders
Rietschle (UK) is to supply five vacuum pump sets to a major pharmaceutical manufacturer, currently expanding its operations in Ireland. Worth £300000, the pump sets were chosen because of their ability to handle aggressive process vapours for prolonged periods.
* Mixed orders from Turkey
The Chronos Richardson Batching Systems Group has secured a £300,000 order from Beltan in Bursa, Turkey. Beltan makes a range of rubber-to-metal bonded anti-vibration components. The contract involves the supply of weighing, feeding and control equipment for two mixing lines.
* Rotork turns in water contract...
Rotork Instruments has won a £100,000 contract from S&IProcess Control for a data integration project at Yorkshire Water's Headingly Treatment Works.
* And power order down under
Rotork Actuation, meanwhile, is to supply 550 IQ range intelligent electric valve actuators to the Collinsville power station in North Queensland, Australia for damper control duties.
