Automatic gas dosing system
15 Jan 2000
Liechtenstein-based Balzers Instruments has developed a novel automatic gas dosing system, intended for upstream pressure control of vacuum processes.
Distributed in the UK by Balzers subsidiary Pfeiffer Vacuum, the system comprises the EVR116 corrosive gas resistant control valve and the RVC 200 controller. The valve has a control range of 5210-6 to 1200mbar l/s, enabling users to control high volume maximum gas throughput as well as reproducible small gas flows.
`The valve can be either controlled by its own RVC 200 or driven by a PLCin a given system,' explains Pfeiffer Vacuum's Rob White. The controller can receive signals from pressure sensors with outputs of up to 10Vdc.
The controller has digital outputs for different valve positions. The gas dosing system can be operated locally or pressure can be remotely controlled via an RS232 or RS485 interface.
