AEA Technology, the recently privatised science and engineering group, is part of a consortium of companies that has won a £140million contract to design and build a new facility for BNFL.
The contract, worth around £7million to AEA, is for an intermediate level radioactive encapsulation plant at BNFL's Sellafield complex in Cumbria.
The project, led by Kvaerner Construction, will be jointly undertaken by Tarmac Construction International, AEA and the Design Group Partnership.
