Rotork Actuation's Fluid Power division, based in Rochester, New York, has won a $9 million contract for the automation of the 12 000 km natural gas pipeline network throughout Mexico. The contract covers the automation of over 600 critical valves at 300 sites around the country.
Courtaulds laminates go to Goa
Courtaulds Packaging (India), the joint venture between Courtaulds and Indian Aluminium, has started up a £6 million laminate tube plant in Goa, India. The plant has the capacity to produce 120 million tubes a year, rising to 300 million by the middle of this year.
Birse sent to Coventry
Severn Trent Water has awarded a £4 million contract to Birse Process Engineering for work at its Finham sewage treatment works in Coventry. The contract, for asset renewal and equipment associated with the nutrient removal plant, consists of a seven-stream centrifuge plant and related sludge handling equipment.
Simon seals its storage capacity
Simon Storage is investing £1.2 million in the construction of two 5500m3 storage tanks at its Seal Sands Terminal. Among the largest at the terminal, the tanks feature internal floating roofs as a vapour control technique.
Clyde wins ashes out East
Clyde Pneumatic Conveying's Power Division has won two contracts worth a total of £770 000 for ash handling systems at two East European power stations. They are for the Elektrame Vojany power plant in Slovakia and the Polish Siersza plant.
Process pumps in Sandwich
Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps of Newark, Notts, has delivered £200 000 worth of chemical process pumps to pharmaceutical manufacturer Pfizer in Sandwich, Kent. The over 30 mainly E-line and CPX pumps are for use in a new £20 million waste water treatment plant.
Enterprising Laporte picks Marcam Speciality chemicals producer Laporte has placed a £200 000 order for Marcam Solutions' Protean Object Oriented ERP (enterprise resource planning) software.
