Birds Eye weighs chicken products
15 Jan 2000
For processing its chicken products, Birds Eye Wall's (BEW) chose Nobel's KIS load cell.
Nobel Systems installed eight Boldt Mixer weighing systems at BEW's Lowestoft factory. These determine the initial batch weight of all meat, and can cross-check on formulation. The KIS load cells control the addition process to prevent overloading of mixers.
Another part of BEW's production line employs Nobel's skip weigher. The skip is wheeled in and located in a lifting frame which is then raised by air pressure into the weigh position. The weight is shown on an eye-level indicator. Data can be sent on.
Hygiene is key and the clean, simple lines and machined stainless steel finish of the KIS load cell suit it to food processing industry, says BEW. The KIS load cell is sealed for ease of cleaning and hosing down after operations.
