In-line filters speed filling
15 Jan 2000
At its St Neots, Cambridgeshire, factory, plastisol producer Henkel Teroson UK wanted to switch from drums to IBCs (intermediate bulk containers) for transporting its products, which are used in the automative industry for undersealing car bodies.
The change to the process was made easier by the decision to replace vibratory screens, previously used to filter the plastisols, with five totally enclosed self-cleaning filters. Supplied by Russell Finex, the filters have virtually eliminated the need for mesh cleaning and, more importantly, provide in-line operation, a key requirement for the efficient filling of IBCs.
Specially designed for high volume continuous production, the Finex filters feature an electrically- or air-operated wiper blade to keep the microscreen clear.
