Compact industrial computers
15 Jan 2000
With its new Pipanel range of industrial computers, Pilz claims to have taken a major step forward in solving problems in process visualisation (SCADA), monitoring and process control.
Pipanel is a compact range that can be used for controlling machines or as human-machine-interfaces (HMIs) with SCADA software. Available with CPUs from 80486DX4/100MHz up to Pentium 133MHz, the computers feature an all-in-one processor board which enabled them to be developed in a very small housing. For displays, the user has the choice of a 10.4in TFT colour screen with a 640x480 resolution, or a 12.1in TFT display with an 800x600 resolution.
The range fully conforms to the EU EMC Directive and is also fully protected from ingress of dust or water. Voltage supply is 24Vdc.
Pilz has also introduced Piterminal 3, a small computer that can be used for control via PLCs and as an HMI.
