APV to close two sites
15 Jan 2000
Following its acquisition by Siebe last year, APV has embarked on a group-wide programme aimed at rationalising its manufacture and assembly operations. As a result APV is to close its Derby and Eastbourne operations, with the work carried out at these sites being moved to the company's facilities in Crawley and APV's major manufacturing plants in Europe.
The Eastbourne factory manufactures a range of positive displacement pumps, while the Derby operations centre on sales, assembly and service of heat exchangers and fluid handling equipment.
According to APV, the rationalisation of these facilities 'is part of APV's drive to improve customer service by streamlining its activities worldwide and moving closer to its major markets.'
The company says that both product ranges involved will continue to be developed as key parts of its total product offering.
