Faraday four are launched

The first four pilot Faraday Partnerships, which will focus on improving industry links with the research base, have been announced by the EPSRC.
Selected from a shortlist of 15 bidders by a panel chaired by EPSRC chief executive Prof Richard Brooks, they are:
1. `Products comprising interdependent mechanical and electronic parts (PRIME)' - the Universities of Loughborough and Nottingham with Pera International;
2. `Enhanced packaging technology' - the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York with Pira International;
3. `Intelligent sensors for control technologies (INTErSECT)' - Sira with NPL;
4. `3D Multimedia applications and technology integration centre (3D-MATIC)' - University of Glasgow with the Turing Institute.
