Siemens Automation has extended its range of human machine interfaces (HMIs) with the addition of new text display and touch panel products.
The Simatic TD17 incorporates an easy-to-read, high contrast, backlit LCD screen that can display up to 999 messages. The integrated flash memory used to store messages can handle Info Text and incoming messages are time-stamped. Process status and process values can be displayed and updated, with up to eight variables possible for each message.
The TD17 can display eight lines of 40 characters, or four lines of 20, depending on the selected font size.
Offering touch-panel control, the new TP27 combines the power of a 486 processor with intuitive finger-tip control to give a high degree of flexibility. Communication with PLCs and other instrumentation is simple and efficient.
