Monitor from afar - via the Net
15 Jan 2000
Foxboro has launched a new software product that will enable users anywhere in the world to access, via the Internet, real time information from an automated manufacturing facility.
For example, it will be possible for a plant manager visiting Tokyo to measure remotely the production rates and costs of a given product manufactured in the UK.
Dynamic Performance Monitor.com (DPM.com) can present such data in the form of text, bar charts or graphs as the user requires. DPM.com uses the same intelligent automation (I/A) software as used by Foxboro's I/A process control system.
