Biffa builds up business
15 Jan 2000
Schemes to help companies recycle a range of waste products, from fluorescent tubes to bottles, are now available on a national basis through the efforts of waste services company Biffa.
Working with companies like Shell, Goodyear, BIP Chemicals and Bass, Biffa has developed various schemes to minimise, reclaim and recycle waste. One example is Bottleback, developed for the Brewers and Licensed Retailers Association. This is designed to help recycle over a third of a million tonnes of glass every year.
New Biffa facilities include the separation of recyclable and non-recyclable materials, a process that minimises landfill volumes and landfill tax charges.
