Courtaulds has appointed Lesley Exley to take on the marketing and brand management of its fast-growing new cellulose-based fibre, Tencel.
* Northern lights
Svein Rennemo has been named chief executive and chairman of the Nordic polyolefins giant Borealis, replacing Juha Rantanen, who is to take the helm of Finnish firm Ahlstrom. Rennemo was previously finance officer.
* Research transfer
David U'Pritchard is to move from Zeneca to SmithKline Beecham, taking over as chairman of R&D from George Poste, now chief science and technology officer. Richard Auty will replace him as Zeneca's research director.
