Recycle: now you can!

A new patented process developed by Utah-based ReSyk can be used to manufacture products using commingled and contaminated plastics.
It does not simply melt one of the plastics while using the other as a filler, but actually bonds the different types of plastics together.
The system is a 5-step process. First, plastic is taken through a grinding process that reduces the mixed plastics into plastic chips or flakes. The chipped plastic is then processed into a malleable state in a patented Compounder (shown in the photograph).
The material is then placed into a mould where pressure is applied and run through a cooling bath. Finally, the part is removed from the mould, trimmed and prepared for shipping.
The company claims that, by using the process, scrap plastic material can be transformed into an inexpensive value-added product.
