Powell wins $7.5 million deepwater awards

Powell Industries subsidiary, Powell Electrical Manufacturing Company has received two contract awards totalling $7.5 million from ConocoPhillips for its deepwater development program in the Gulf of Mexico.
These awards include two power and control modules for use on one of ConocoPhillips' floating tension leg production platforms located off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico in nearly 4,700 feet of water.
The modules will provide electrical power for normal and emergency loads for the facility's drilling, production and living quarters operations.
The two power and control modules for ConocoPhillips are multi-story units designed as single lift packages containing electrical switchgear and complete with all electrical components installed, interconnected and tested.
