Filter cleans continually
12 Jun 2000
Available in the UK from distributor George Meller, a new Ronningen-Petter clean-in-place filter incorporates a pneumatically actuated `continuous-clean' valve designed to reduce operating costs on filtration processes, particularly those involving slurries, high viscosity media and high value liquids.
The valve removes solids captured on the inner surface of the filter screen in a continuous cycle - as frequently as every 30 seconds if required - and passes them to a collection chamber in the base of the filter from where they can be periodically purged without interrupting the process.
This continual cleaning of the filter screen prevents blinding, ensuring that low differential pressure is maintained across the screen and flow of product is uniform and consistent.
