New compressors

Oil-free compressed air is the focus of Ingersoll-Rand's display (294). A range of new compressors increases the company's capabilties in this area, where it is already a market leader.
The C950 compressor is an addition to the Centac range of centrifugal compressors, with an improved aerodynamic design and control system giving an increase in efficiency over the older 2ACII model, which it is intended to replace. The C950 produces 100 per cent oil-free air at a stable, continuous pressure, the company claims, with high efficiency even under part-load conditions.
Like the C950, the Sierra range of oil-free rotary screw compressors (shown above) is aimed at the chemical, pharmaceutical and industrial gases industries. The stand will feature the latest additions to this range, whose 200-300kW power rating makes them the largest air-cooled compressors of their type on the market. The cooling system uses only one air cooler per stage instead of two, making them quicker and cheaper to maintain.
Ingersoll-Rand has also expanded the OL range of oil-free compressors, which are designed for applications where oil must be totally excluded for environmental or health reasons, such as laboratories, hospitals and dentists. The range now includes units with power ratings from 4.1 to 19kW, providing free air deliveries from 430-2632 l/min at 8.5barg.
