Pump protection machinery
12 Jun 2000
Mono Pumps' stand at Achema showcases the company's pump protection machinery (292). Designed to fit a range of machinery, the equipment is designed to allow pumps to operate in aggressive environments, and to reduce the amount of maintenance needed to keep the pumps running.
The devices include the L Series Discreen, which screens out solids from sewage and waste water screens with flow rates above 14 000m3/h. Another device, the TR Muncher (a low-speed, high-torque grinder) protects pumps against damage or blockage by finely grinding sludges and screenings for pumps in submersible and dry sewage wells.
Two other devices use Mono Pumps' Flexishaft drive system, which cuts operating costs by improving pump reliability and reducing the need for maintenance. The Mechanical Joint Replacement Kit allows users of progressing cavity pumps to use the Flexishaft system, while a new shortened version of the shaft has been designed for applications where space and weight savings are important.
