Fisher-Rosemount to ramp up fieldbus training services
12 Jun 2000
Fisher-Rosemount has seen unprecedented demand for fieldbus training at its Leicester plant, with five times over-subscription for its courses. The demand has appeared to have arisen from the increased application of PlantWeb/fieldbus technology in the process industries. However, further problems have recently surfaced with continued rows over the fieldbus standard, IEC 61158, (see p41 and p13 in this issue). According to the project sales manager, Travis Hesketh, `fieldbus is delivering cash returns to our customers, leading to exponential growth.' The company will be running more training events across the country throughout the summer months by adding 16 extra regional seminars and hands-on sessions.
Planned venues include Aberdeen, Grangemouth, Teesside, Manchester, Bracknell and Watford. The Leicester-based event will be repeated in the autumn.
