IN BRIEF: TotalFina Elf names execs

Following the merger of Elf Acquitaine and TotalFina, the merged company has named the executives who are to take charge of the chemicals division. Francois Cornelis will be executive vice-president and chief executive of the business, while Francois Perier will serve as vice-president, taking charge of R&D, technical services, planning and environmental safety, as well as the fertilisers and chlor-chemicals activities. Elf Atochem, of which Cornelis will be chairman, will change its name to Atofina at the end of March.
