Peristaltic pump specialist Watson-Marlow Bredel's new 620 series pump range combines ease of maintenance with versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of tasks usually entrusted to other types of positive displacement pumps. The company hopes that the new units will help it push peristaltic pumps into other areas of the PD pump market - and also enhance its own market share.
Features of the 620 series include improved performance - 1100litre/hr at 4 bar pressure, which is the key backpressure against which dosing and metering pumps need to work.
Maintenance is extremely quick and easy, thanks to `Loadsure' pump elements which lock the pump hose into the casing. The pump tube can be removed and refitted within a minute. The Loadsure elements are available in a variety of designs: cam and groove, for industrial applications such as printing and chemicals dosing; and PVDF DIN series, for food, drugs and agrochemicals applications.
The 620 series brings the benefits of mid-flow process pumps to more industrial applications, says sales director Chris Gadsen. `We have had a number of companies testing the pump, and the feedback is that the element changes are really quick and the pump is incredibly accurate and consistent.'
