PlantWeb chalks up 500

Fisher-Rosemount has reached the 500 mark in project sales of its field-based PlantWeb control architecture. Ranging from individual operating units to large integrated projects with more than 19000 I/O, the automation systems have gone around the world to customers across the process spectrum.
In the UK, as part of a contract to supply BP Amoco with equipment and services for its Grangemouth complex, F-R is to put in a trial installation of the Foundation fieldbus-based architecture. A key criterion in the selection of the DeltaV system for this project, says F-R, was the need to reduce cabling and installation costs.
