Distributed, but together

With the introduction of `Distributed Server Architecture' as part of its PlantScape Release 300 suite of offerings, Honeywell claims to have launched the `next generation of process control'. What the new technology does is to allow multiple PlantScape systems to operate as one integrated system - be it on one plant or across the world - without any duplication of engineering effort.
Designed to handle the most demanding remote requirements over slower wide-area networks, Distributed Server Architecture is said to be ideal for integrating processes where there are multiple control rooms, or for segmenting control across process units.
The latest version of PlantScape claims another industry first, as the only hybrid DCS with open, high-speed, peer-to-peer integration over ControlNet to the Allen-Bradley Logix5550, PLC-5 controller and other ControlNet devices.
