Valves cut biosolids cake
7 Apr 2000
New lime dosing plants at Anglian Water's Whitlington and Cliffs Quay Sewage treatment works use 250mm diameter biway knife gate valves from Reiss Valves, a division of PCC Flow technologies. The valves handle the extrusion of cake with 40 per cent biosolids and pressures up to 40 bar.
A cavity pump effects discharge to skips via a bullhorn pipework configuration with a high pressure knife gate valve in-line and another on each of the discharge horns.
