BASF announces new Korea plan
7 Apr 2000
Riding the wave of the Southeast Asian recovery, BASF has announced plans for a large expansion of its business in Korea. The company is spending around E400million (£250million) on building and enlarging its plastics precursors, specialities and fibre intermediates plants at Yosu and Ulsan. The former will see expansions to isocyanates and MDI plants and a new TDI facility, all supplying the polyurethane market. Ulsan will have a new plant for acid chlorides and chloroformates, and expansions in polyether polols and polyTHF.
