High speed vacuum action

BOC Edwards has upgraded its range of mechanical booster vacuum pumps for industrial applications. The EH2600 and EH4200 are now fitted with a high power 11kW motor as standard, ensuring reliability in arduous duty gas evacuation applications, says the company.
Featuring BOC Edwards hydrokinetic drive technology, EH booster pumps are designed for continuous running at all pressures. This means that both booster and backing pumps can be started at the same time from atmospheric pressure, for significantly faster pump-down and simpler, more reliable operation. Evacuation times can be as little as half those required by traditional sequential pump action solutions.
In addition, the hydrokinetic drive design means that EH series pumps require no pressure sensors, by-pass lines, valves or complex control systems, so installation is simpler and less costly, says the company. Since there is no need for a pressure release or bypass valve either, the integrity of the pump is not compromised by ingress of dust or water vapour.
The upgraded EH2600 and EH4200 pumps must be used with a suitable vacuum backing pump for continuous evacuation of gas from atmosphere. They can be supplied stand-alone for incorporating into a vacuum system, or as a complete system with a BOC Edwards dry industrial vacuum pump, such as the GV Drystar.
