Boost for AMEC as orders flow
18 Feb 2000
In a £25million deal, AMEC has entered into a five-year alliance with Union Carbide to supply engineering support services for the US chemical company's plants at Wilton, Teesside. Areas of work covered initially include turnarounds, scheduled maintenance, planning, contractor management, purchasing, stores and project execution.
The signing of the alliance comes at a time of record orders for AMEC. According to the contractor, this reflects significant progress in each of the group's business sectors and continued success in developing preferred contractual relationships, such as with Union Carbide.
In the process sector, AMEC's most recent contract is the £235million order from Saudi Aramco for the engineering, procurement and construction of a natural gas liquids facility at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
