Setting a standard for on-site calibration
9 Oct 2000
Recently introduced to the UK by Hawco, Ametek's advanced temperature calibrator, the Joffra ATC, has been designed to meet new EA guidelines established by European standards laboratories.
Combining the accuracy of laboratory calibrators with the speed and portability of dry-block calibrators, the ATC features a two-zone heating element, each zone independently controlled. The homogeneity in the active part of the element is close to that of a laboratory liquid bath, while the upper region compensates for heat transport from the sensor being tested and from the top of the block. This design feature eliminates any need to insulate the sensor under test.
In addition to a built-in reference sensor in the well, the ATC is also equipped with an external reference thermometer. This means the one instrument offers the freedom to perform calibrations at the process site while maintaining a higher level of accuracy.
