3D-mixing package reduces simulation time

HAL Computer Systems has announced the availability of the ORCA mixing package. ORCA is a fully integrated package of software, hardware, and consulting services that simulates mixing processes in a wide range of industries, such as pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, and food and beverages.
ORCA was jointly developed by ACUSIM Software, ICEM CFD Engineering, HAL Computer Systems, and Mixing Consultants.
'With the ORCA software running on a multiprocessor Fujitsu server, users can accurately simulate large 3D models in just a few hours rather than days,' said Kim Jensen, President of Dantec Measurement Technology. Dantec, which provides expertise in flow measurement technology and contract measurement services, will be the distributor for ORCA in the United States.
Within the ORCA software, a customised GUI-based geometry modeller, an automatic mesh generator, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver, and visualisation software are coupled for modelling of stirred tanks and static mixers.
ORCA is designed for Fujitsu SPARC64 PRIMEPOWER Solaris servers, but is available for other hardware platforms upon request. For more information about ORCA, see www.orcamix.com or e-mail info@orcamix.com.
