Rugby Cement tackles the bag
22 Aug 2000
A dust control system has been installed to serve Rugby Cement's bagging operation. Torit DCE's multi-module dust collection system has been installed as part of plant wide improvements. The system has been integrated with two previously overworked filter units and has reduced the dust burden. The system extracts dust created during bag stressing, weighing, rejection of lightweight bags and general conveying operations. Dust collected in the hopper is fed through a rotary valve onto a screw conveyor for reuse in the cement manufacturing process. Designed to handle heavy dust burdens, while maintaining a stable differential pressure, an effective airflow is ensured. The filter modules incorporate felt fabric media which offer filtration properties capable of achieving collection efficiencies exceeding 99.99 per cent. This performance ensures that emission targets are met and minimises the amount of dust escaping into the working environment. The unit also features automatically activated reverse jet cleaning.
