22 Aug 2000
Nordic polyolefin producer Borealis has started up its first polypropylene plant using the Borstar loop and gas phase process. The 200,000tpa plant, at Schwechat, Austria, which cost E140million, replaces two plants using a slurry process. `Potential licensees have shown a lot of interest in our Borstar technology,' comments Bjorn Klofelt, vice-president for licensing.
