A quick peek at the new Siemens site
22 Aug 2000
Siemens Automation & Drives has acquired Applied Automation, the gas analysis and chromatography specialist, previously part of Elsag Bailey. The acquisition is part of a long-term strategy to increase its analysis and instrumentation business.
The business will be called Siemens Applied Automation and will continue to develop gas chromatography solutions for the hydrocarbon, pharmaceutical and chemical markets.
Siemens has also invested in a new purpose-built applications laboratory, systems integration facility and customer training centre at the Nottingham site.
Gordon Carmichael, business manager at Siemens Automation & Drives said: `Evaluation, system configuration, systems integration and acceptance testing are key issues for customers. The company is the only place in this country carrying out applications development.'
