Well known for its Wizcon Scada systems, eMation (formerly known as PC Soft) has acquired Intuitive Technology in a move which it believes gives eMation the controlling market share in Web-based visualisation software.
`Intuitive Technology is the supplier of Internet technology to industrial market leaders such as Siemens, ABB, Elsag Bailey, Gensym, Intellution, Wonderware, GE and Aspen Technology,' says eMation president and ceo Dale Calder. `With its addition, eMation becomes the only company able to provide a common Web interface for all of these major software and hardware players, plus that of all major historian systems.'
Founded in 1993, Intuitive has `tens of thousands' of its @aGlance/IT client and server connections in use around the world. The @aGlance product family is amulti-platform, client-server enabling technology for connecting people to real-time process manufacturing data.
`By combining eMation and @aGlance technology, we will redefine client/server computing for enterprises everywhere,' commented Intuitive president Dave Copeland.
`Proprietary systems will be replaced with open, scaleable web-based solutions that will deliver historical and real-time data to those that need it, where they need it, and when they need it,' he said. `With eMation, we will be able to bring these solutions to customers on a global basis.'
