Queen’s Award for Newson Gale

Safety equipment specialist Newson Gale is among the winners of this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, for increasing the overseas sales of its Cenelectrex static grounding equipment by 70% in three years.

The Cenelectrex range includes the Bond-Rite self-testing static grounding clamp and the Cen-Stat anti-static cable. These products are targeted at the chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other process sectors where electrostatic build-up is common, and where this could cause fires and explosions.

‘We have invested heavily in product development, technical approvals and certification over a ten-year period in order to make the Cenelectrex product range acceptable to customers world-wide,’ says chairman and CEO Ernest Kochmann. The company is now attempting to expand sales in the US.
